Berikut adalah beberapa perkara yang tak pernah ayah beritahu kita, walaupun mereka dalam keadaan susah sekalipun.
1. AYAH TAK CUKUP DUIT
Setiap bulan, mereka akan memikirkan keperluan rumah, keperluan dapur, anak-anak, isteri, dan akhir sekali barulah keperluan mereka. Kita mungkin tak tahu, dalam poket ayah cuma ada RM10 sewaktu kita telefon minta wang semasa di universiti.
Bila awal bulan, memang seronok dapat gaji. Tapi bila ditolak-tolak kesemuanya, semua harapan untuk membeli apa saja kemahuan mereka terpaksa ditunda lagi. Hinggalah mereka melupakan terus hasrat tersebut sampai ke hari ini.
2. AYAH KECEWA BILA TAK DAPAT BELIKAN MAINAN YANG KITA MINTA
Ayah mahu gembirakan kita. Kalau boleh, satu kedai mainan mahu diberikan kepada kita. Tapi tentulah ada masanya dia perlu mendidik kita.
Ada masanya pula, kewangan tak mengizinkan. Ayah rasa bersalah sangat bila tak dapat bawa balik mainan yang diminta oleh kita adik-beradik. Kalau dapat duit lebih, benda itulah yang pertama sekali ayah nak beli. Bukan barang lain.
3. AYAH MAHU DEKAT DENGAN KITA
Ayah mungkin nampak kekok apabila berbual dengan kita. Tapi sebenarnya mereka mahu hadir dalam hati kita. Kalau boleh, mereka mahu menghentikan masa supaya mereka dapat sentiasa ada dengan anak-anak dan melihat semua seperti apa yang dilihat oleh mata ibu – langkah pertama kita, perkataan pertama kita, dan berkongsi detik gembira dengan kita.
4. AYAH DAH CUBA SEHABIS BAIK UNTUK KELUARGA
Kita mungkin tak perasan, ayah buat ‘overtime’ sebab mahu cukupkan belanja rumah atau beli barang yang kita asyik sebutkan. Walaupun mereka sibuk bekerja, percayalah dalam hati mereka kerja tersebut adalah diniatkan untuk mencukupkan keperluan keluarga, termasuklah kita.
Tapi sebagai manusia, ayah juga pernah tersalah langkah. Mungkin ia menyebabkan kita berdendam, terutamanya kalau ada janji mereka yang tidak ditepati. Entah kenapa, kita rasa ayah tak boleh buat silap. Sedangkan, mereka dah cuba sedaya-upaya, tapi segala ketentuan bukanlah di tangan mereka. Kalau kita sedih, apatah lagi mereka.
5. AYAH PENAT
Ayah penat. Kadang-kadang ayah sibuk ambil dan hantar anak ke sekolah sampai lupa makan tengahari. Ayah jamah saja apa yang sempat. Masalah ayah, kita tak jarang tanya. Sebab kalau tanya pun, mesti ayah kata tak ada. Lama-lama, kita pun lupa nak tanya lagi.
Bagaimana ayah dapat lakukan rutin ini setiap hari, itu rahsia dia. Dengan kudrat itulah ayah membesarkan kita hingga hari ini. Ya, hari ini. Walaupun kita dah kahwin dan berkeluarga, ayah masih tanya sama ada kita cukup makan pakai.
6. AYAH MAHU KITA JADI LEBIH BAIK BERBANDING DIRINYA
Bila dah dewasa dan bekerja, baru kita tahu tekanan itu datang dari mana. Tapi seingat kita, ayah selalu nampak tenang dan ayah tak pernah mengeluh. Ayah hebat.
Tapi, dia tak mahu kita jadi seperti mereka. Dia mahu kita jadi lebih baik berbanding dirinya.
7. AYAH MAHU KITA BOLEH HIDUP TANPANYA SUATU HARI NANTI
Apa yang ayah larang selama ini ada sebabnya yang tersendiri. Apa yang ayah suruh buat pun samalah juga. Pokok pangkalnya, dia mahu kita boleh berdikari. Mereka tahu kita perlu hidup tanpa mereka satu hari nanti.
Jadi, diharapkan ilmu dan didikan yang diberikan kepada kita dapat menjadikan kita berfikir. Mungkin kita tak faham pada waktu itu, tapi kita akan faham nanti. Apa yang kita nak kata, katalah. Ayah tak risau tanggapan kita walaupun ada masanya dia berkecil hati.
Sebenarnya, bukan dia tak peduli perasaan kita. Tapi ayah berpandangan jauh dan cuba menunaikan tanggungjawab mereka sebaik mungkin.
8. AYAH TAK MENYESAL KORBANKAN SEMUANYA UNTUK KITA
Apabila ayah semakin tua, ayah lega tengok anak-anak berjaya. Tapi sebenarnya, yang kurang menyerlah pun, ayah sayang juga. Tak ada lebih, tak ada kurang. Kita saja yang menuduh ayah yang bukan-bukan.
Apa pun, ayah tak jemu mendoakan kita setiap hari untuk menampung kekurangan mereka terhadap kita. Ayah tak pernah menyesal berkorban untuk kita walaupun ada masanya kita tidak menjadi seperti apa yang mereka harapkan.
9. AYAH SAYANGKAN KITA
Tiada kata yang dapat menerangkan bagaimana ayah menyayangi kita. Mereka tak pandai menyusun ayat, mereka tak pandai meyakinkan kita melalui kata-kata. Hanya Tuhan yang mampu menilai semua pengorbanan ayah terhadap kita.
ITULAH PENGORBANAN AYAH!
Kadang-kadang kita memang tak nampak semua perkara ini hinggalah kita dewasa.
Begitu banyak beban dan pengorbanan ayah tidak mungkin terucap dengan kata-kata kerana cintanya terhadap kita. Jadi, hargailah ayah kita walau apa pun sejarah kita dengan mereka. Ayah tidak pernah meminta masa yang lebih….tapi hanya sekelumit masa bersamanya dah cukup…
